When I’m writing, I’m pretty much head’s down. Right now, I’m all about the Battletech webseries. I’m about to kill off the first NPC and then the first main character. Mostly you will hear, “I wrote 1000 words today.”

I am also working a lot on Apocalypse Ink Productions. We have our regular “get on the same page” meeting on Wednesdays. And things are moving in multiple projects. I’m pleased and not yet overwhelmed.

I have enough to do that I am working to a specific schedule these days. It’s wonderful and busy but not yet to the juggling chainsaws stage. Though, I can see it in the distance.

I have contracts for four anthologies (Beast Within 3, Beast Within 4, Coins of Chaos, Dangers Untold) with a couple more floating in the “in progress” ether. I can already tell you that the month of September is going to be crazy. But I’m looking forward to it.

Meet Jennifer Brozek

Jennifer Brozek is a multi-talented, award-winning author, editor, and media tie-in writer. She is the author of Never Let Me Sleep and The Last Days of Salton Academy, both of which were nominated for the Bram Stoker Award. Her YA tie-in novels, BattleTech: The Nellus Academy Incident and Shadowrun: Auditions, have both won Scribe Awards. Her editing work has earned her nominations for the British Fantasy Award, the Bram Stoker Award, and the Hugo Award. She won the Australian Shadows Award for the Grants Pass anthology, co-edited with Amanda Pillar. Jennifer’s short form work has appeared in Apex Publications, Uncanny Magazine, Daily Science Fiction, and in anthologies set in the worlds of Valdemar, Shadowrun, V-Wars, Masters of Orion, Well World, and Predator.

Jennifer has been a full-time freelance author and editor for over seventeen years, and she has never been happier. She keeps a tight schedule on her writing and editing projects and somehow manages to find time to teach writing classes and volunteer for several professional writing organizations such as SFWA, HWA, and IAMTW. It’s been an amazing couple of weeks. Really amazing. Awards: I’ve been nominated for two different Scribe Awards. One for best tie-in short story. One for best tie-in YA novel. Conventions: I’ve been named one of Gen Con’s Industry Insider Featured Presenters. I’m really excited about this. Election: I’ve been voted in as one of the new Directors-at-Large for SFWA along with Matthew Johnson. I will take office on July 1, 2015. Interview: I’ve been interviewed by Katie Teller, focusing on my Dark Quest Books anthologies. Review: Thomas Gondolfi of Scifimonkeys.com reviewed CALLER UNKNOWN and gave it an “Unexpected A-“. I had the best time at Great Falls Gaming Rendezvous. This awesome relax-a-con, gaming convention is run by generous and skilled people, the fans were friendly and fun. It is absolutely worth going to. While here, I got to:– Judge the costume contest.– Enjoy the panels.– Meet long time fans.– Eat at Roadhouse Diner and taste the spectacular PB&J burger (seriously it’s good).– Enjoy bison and beef…. man, it’s a cut above.– Montana food in general! My goodness, is it ever good. (Huckleberry shakes!)– Be inspired by local Montana stuff enough to write a new short story (draft draft is done).– Be impressed by the lengths the COMCON when through to create an open and safe environment for everyone. Seriously, GFGR has one of the best Codes of Conduct and educated staff I’ve seen. They even went through an OSHA course on the prevention sexual harassment. – Buy some local...
